EAZAO (ˈēZào) combines the word Easy with 造 (Zào) — the Mandarin word for create.
At EAZAO, our mission is to provide tools, technologies, and services that simplify the process of making. We believe everyone has the ability to create when empowered with tools that are intuitive and easy to use.
History of EAZAO
As an undergraduate studying Mechanical Engineering, Jony began experimenting with 3D printing by building his own FDM printer using open-source information found online. Through hands-on development, he became highly skilled in FDM technology and started documenting his step-by-step build process, sharing debugging insights with the DIY maker community. During this time, Jony also developed his first prototype of a low-cost FDM printer, raising over $20,000 through crowdfunding.
Toward the end of his junior year, Jony entered—and won—a national engineering competition focused on environmental protection and renewable energy. His winning project featured a modified FDM printer capable of printing with locally sourced clay that he collected near his home. This innovation earned him admission into a Mechanical Engineering Master’s program at one of China’s top universities. Following several additional awards and recognitions, Jony sold his clay-based 3D printer in 2016.
In 2018, Jony suffered a serious accident involving a clay pugmill that required four hours of surgery. During his recovery, he had a breakthrough realization. At the time, most clay extrusion systems relied on air compressors for power. Jony began experimenting with a low-cost electric actuator as an alternative method for clay extrusion—eliminating the need for compressed air systems. This innovation led to the creation of CERAMBOT, a Kickstarter project that raised over $300,000 USD from more than 1,000 backers worldwide.

In 2021, the EAZAO launched the EAZAO Zero—an easy-to-use, entry-level desktop ceramic 3D printer. In 2022, the Matrix line of professional printers was introduced to meet growing demand for large-scale ceramic printing. Additional innovations followed, including the microwave mini kiln capable of reaching temperatures up to 1200°C (cone 6).
In 2024, the EAZAO Potter was launched globally, featuring direct extrusion technology that eliminated the need for a feed tube. In 2026, the EAZAO Potter X-1 was introduced as an upgraded model—offering increased power while remaining accessible for beginners and providing advanced manual controls for experienced users.
Today, EAZAO is expanding beyond ceramic 3D printing into broader applications. Our core technologies are centered around moldless direct-write digital manufacturing and viscous fluid production. Building on this foundation, we have developed new solutions including concrete 3D printers, bio-3D printers, and gummy candy 3D printers.

We believe the field of viscous fluid printing will continue to grow as industries seek flexible ways to manufacture products using their own materials. EAZAO is committed to becoming a global leader in this space by delivering scalable, customizable tools for viscous fluid manufacturing.
