This solution is aimed at particularly viscous printing materials, which are particularly hard and cannot be extruded smoothly with a screw extruder.
Preparation: Directly extrude the adapter plate, PLF12-02.
- Remove the 2 M6 bolts and take off the SHF20 that fixes the extruder.
- Fix the direct extrusion adapter plate to the X-axis slider and fix the PLF12-02 on the adapter plate as shown in the figure below.
- Insert the material tube directly into PLF12-02.
What changes to parameters are required to use this? Retraction seems impossible
You don’t need to modify the firmware to change to this setting, just the mechanical modifications, and you won’t be able to use the retraction function. To be honest, there is no retraction in clay printing because clay has shear thinning properties. As long as the screw rotates, clay will be extruded.
